Frequently Asked Questions

Everything families usually ask before joining SolacePoint.

Who is the SolacePoint program for?
Our services are designed for families and caregivers of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who are 10 years of age and older — including autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, Fragile X syndrome and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
What does the 2-month intensive program include?
12 one-hour online training sessions, 6 small group sessions for families in the DMV region, and 4 individual home lessons — plus free 24/7 access to our expert-created medical video library.
We live outside the USA. Can we still join?
Yes. The digital training program is available to families around the globe. Only the group sessions and home lessons are limited to the DMV area (DC, Maryland, Virginia).
Do we need a medical background to benefit?
Not at all. The program is designed for families with little to no prior medical knowledge. Complex topics — genetic disorders, medication side effects, chronic conditions — are explained in plain, practical language.
What topics does the training cover?
Social determinants of health, healthy eating and meal preparation, physical activity, genetic disorders causing IDD, behavioral issues, trauma-informed care, depression and anxiety, communication skills, dental health, benefits knowledge, and more.
Are the medical videos really free?
Yes — our open-access online library of medical videos, developed by doctors and mental-health professionals, is freely available around the clock.
How do I book a session?
Use the Book Session page, email info@solacepoint.com, or call (571) 746-5155. We usually respond within one business day.
